Born on January 23, 1965, Amir Adnan traces his ancestry to the Royal Dhaka Nawab family and is the great-grandson of Nawab Sir Salimullah, one of the founding figures associated with the All India Muslim League.

His work has also used fashion as a platform for social inclusion. At Fashion Pakistan Week Spring/Summer 2018, members of the deaf community participated in his runway presentation, bringing visibility to inclusion and representation within fashion.
