"Penrose" is from the FW23 'Zer' collection by Parishae. The penrose pleats is a lehenga choli ensemble made entirely with black textured jamawar. The piece is inspired by the penrose staircase depicting the journey of man forever in an upward loop, unable to escape or be transported back down. The lehenga is cut like a skirt in a diagonal and features large pleats at the front that give it the volume of a lehenga without creating the A-line shape. The choli of this piece is made with a large strip of fabric laid down in layers to mimic the shape of the penrose staircase. It is held in a halter shape with a signature embroidered belt.
